My Unfair Godmother ARC giveaway

Now that you’ve all finished Mockingjay (Do not tell me the ending!!! I’m still not done with it because my teenage daughter got to it first.) I know you’re all looking for some other awesome book.

And what could be awesomer (I know that’s not a word, but it should be) than catching up with our favorite incompetent fairy godmother, Chrysanthemum Everstar? So here’s your chance to win an ARC before they even go to the reviewers.

Just leave a comment telling me what you would do if a fairy godmother gave you a wish (and no cheating by asking for more wishes, or to have magic, or anything else that would give you more wishes.)Be sure to mention if you’re a blog follower since followers get double chances.

And remember–you’re agreeing to overlook that whole business about hay and straw not being the same thing and all the other little problems that I hope I caught in the last draft.

May the Random Number Generator be with you!

My Unfair Godmother ARC giveaway — 119 Comments

  1. I am a huge follower!

If I had a fairy Godmother and I was given one wish, I would wish to have a huge dinner with all of my relatives. Everyone alive now, and who has already past away, and who I only know through genealogy. I think it would be an amazing day. Oh and awesomer should totally be a word. Let’s petition. πŸ™‚

  2. Yay! I can’t wait for this to come out!

    I follow. πŸ™‚

If I could get one wish I’d want to put it in a bottle where I could just look at it sometimes and imagine the possibilities. πŸ™‚

  3. Yay, thanks for the contest!

    I’m a follower

If I got a wish from a fairy godmother, it would be to no longer have college loans! Sure, that isn’t very creative…but in this economy it sure would be nice (plus, I’d have more money for books, books, books) πŸ™‚

  4. I’m a follower on Reader! πŸ™‚

If I had one wish I would wish for a lifetime pass to all the Disney parks and resorts.. That would be heaven.

  5. Lots of my ideas have already been said, so….I’d wish for advance copies of all the books I want, so I never have to wait for them.

Either that or I’d wish that straw and hay really were the same things. πŸ™‚

    I’m a follower! πŸ™‚

  6. I wish that the fairy godmother let my wedding be well without any drama like my sister. To be exact, please don’t make my wedding dress tear on the wedding day and the caterer forget the booth..There, I said that.

    I’m a follower =)

  7. Oh this contest is awesome! I can’t wait to read this!

Honestly, right now, if a fairy godmother gave me a wish I’d probably wish to be a little smarter so I could breeze through these college math classes I’m getting ready to take! They are all I need to finish my degree and I’ve put them off this whole time. HEHE! I know its not money or fame but hey its important to me!

    Great contest!

  8. Follower πŸ™‚

If I had a fairy godmother…I’d wish for an elf to do my ironing…and laundry for that matter. It’s the one thing I always feel like I can’t get on top of.

  9. I’m a follower! If I could have one wish, I would wish for unlimited energy. So I could stay up all night reading and writing and not pay for it the next day. πŸ˜‰

  10. I didn’t even have to hesitate on this wish. I would just wish for a cute, cozy little home on my own acre of land–all paid for! Maybe I will actually get my wish in 20 years or so…

  11. I’m a follower?

Are these rigged wishes? Do we have to be very specific? How generous is this fairy godmother?

If I could wish for anything (and have it come true in the way I meant) I would wish that I could be sucessful at anything I tried. Or, in other words, I would wish for better self-discipline.

  12. I would wish for magic hair that always looks fabulous, like the Pert Plus commercial lady from the 80’s!
Also, hay and straw are different? Who knew? Not me!
    Oh, and I’m a follower!

  13. I follow you on Google Reader too!

Just one wish is a hard one. World peace? Too pageanty. A cure for Diabetes, Cancer, AIDS, and all other horrible nasty diseases. That would be nice.

  14. While this would not be my wish every time, right now I would wish that I could be off bedrest and do whatever I felt like and these babies would not be born until mid-October.

    And I follow

  15. I’m a follower on google reader. Does that count?

My wish would be to have a super nice, prepaid hotel room where I could just sleep for a few days while my husband watched the kids.

  16. Oooo, I hate to copy, but I’m with Kate: I would wish for a lifetime pass for me and the fam to all things Disney! I guess anyone who loves reading fairy tales would love Disney, too. πŸ™‚

So excited for this book; and will be glad to ignore the hay issue.(Didn’t know before anyway!)

  17. …um…got in a hurry when I signed up to be a follower and typed my name wrong…worse than confusing hay and straw!
    It’s “Shiralea,” not “Shiraela”
    *puts hands over face*

  18. Obviously I’d wish for world peace, but if she weren’t that powerful a godmother, I would just wish for another 10 hours after all the kids have gone to bed. (so I can play with my husband and stay up reading all night!!)

    I’m a follower:)

  19. YAY! I’ve been so excited for this book! Thanks so much for doing this (:

    I’m definitely a follower!

If I had a wish I would wish that I had my late cat Smokey back in my arms. I miss her so much.

  20. I’m a follower…

as for a wish…I would have to say that to wish for something would be so hard – it seems that with wishes we must give up something in order to have the wish…but even with that risk, I would probably still have to say: travel with my family – everywhere, all the time, and to be able to take millions of pictures of each place so that we always remember the path it took to get where we are…

  21. I am a follower :o)
If I had one wish from a fairy godmother i’d wish for an endless supply of Janette Rallison books! Because who wouldn’t want to live a lifetime constantly reading books by their favorite author??? If you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge fan!

  22. I would want to go on a very long vacation with my family, with a guide to all the places I would choose to visit. Also, I would definitely have to fly first class anywhere and have the best accomodations, and lots of books to read while I relax. To say the least, it would be a very specific wish.

  23. I would wish health for my family. It’s amazing how much I took that for granted, and how much I look forward to its return.

And I follow your blog (of course) and it looks like I’m going to need that second entry@

  24. I’m so excited for this book to come out! Hmmm… if I had a wish, right now it would be for enough money to buy a house and pay off all of our debt. Yep, that would be a really nice wish to have come true. (I’m already a blog follower btw) πŸ˜€

  25. I’m a loyal follower ever since Project Book Babe!
If my Fair Godmother could grant me one wish it would be for my 7 year old daughter to have a Fairy Godmother of her own. About a month ago my adorable little girl wrote a note (don’t you just love the handwriting and imagination of a 1st grader?)to the Fairy World letting them know she believes in them and would really like to see them in person. What’s a mom supposed to do with a letter like that? The only thing possible—give it to Dad. So he took the note to work and collaborated with the more highly creative fairies there, who in fact contacted the Fairy Queen to provide a very personal card and tiny wand for my little girl to received under her pillow. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall that next show-and-tell day at school, showing off her wand and note from the Fair Queen.
A whole new can of worms is now opened because she keeps asking when she gets to see the Fairies for real, not just their letters.

  26. i am a follower πŸ™‚

if i had a fairy godmother i would as her for a car so i could drive myself to school instead of walking or waking my mom up.

  27. I’m a follower of your blog, and if I had a Fairy Godmother and she gave me one wish I would ask for a cure for every and any type of cancer πŸ™‚

  28. I am a follower!

Hmm, I am tempted to wish that my house would always be clean, or to have lots of energy, as others have… but maybe in the end the thing that would make me (and my family) happiest would be having my pantry always stocked, along with a never-ending supply of ice cream in the freezer.

Yes, no more grocery shopping. That would be nice. Or, maybe I should take it one step further and ask for food to just appear whenever I want it. That would cut out the cooking too! That’s it!

  29. Just One wish? (haha, ahem. okay.)

    I’m a follower.

Right now I would wish for labor and delivery to be free. I’m so ready for this baby — but I could do without the medical bills. And, oh dear, I’m probably going to end up in a third world country for wishing that…

  30. I’m a blog follower. I loved the last book! If I had one wish I would wish for my dream house. I hope she wouldn’t screw that one up. I guess I’d have to be more specific than that.

  31. I am a follower.

I would wish to suddenly receive a large amount of money, like a writing grant, or an inheritance from a relative that I didn’t know I had (so it wouldn’t be so sad), and then I would quit my day job and write full time and get my own book(s) finished.

  32. I’d wish to be agile like a monkey – you know, swinging through the trees, climbing with my feet, flinging poo at people, all that jazz. Well, nix the last one. But I am the least flexible person I know (I can’t even touch my TOES), so this is a big deal. Oh, and if we could wish for superpowers? I’d totally make my superpower elasticity. Love it.

    Also a follower. Huzzah!

  33. I would wish for all the money I would ever need. That way, I could pay off my parent’s debt & house, my brother’s debt and get him a house, buy myself a house, and be able to afford all the trips and books I could ever want!

    I follow the blog!

    ~Meredith F.

  34. Dang, so many other comments to scroll past. πŸ™‚ I didn’t want to read any until I posted my own so here goes: 1) Hay and straw look the same to me so I don’t know of any difference. 2) I AM a follower of the blog. I love the books that I couldn’t NOT follow the blog and all your quirky thought processes. πŸ˜€ 3) I’d wish for kinda what Savannah got. To be able to see things more clearly. But I’d like to still be where I am, doing what I’m doing, I’d just like a better perspective on it all. Can a person wish for something like that? Rather vague so I’m sure Chrissy would have a field day with that. πŸ˜€ Can’t wait for your next book!

  35. I’m about as addicted to this as I am Facebook. I check almost every day for new blog posts.
If I had one wish, I would probably wish for the money to buy any and all books that I want to, or will want to, buy. Which would be a whole library full and I’d still need more books to read. πŸ™‚

  36. Follower!
I would want the power to transform into a mermaid i think I would wish for a perfect transcript, therefore getting lots of scholarships and money (There are more creative wished but of course I can’t think of them right now.

  37. I’m a follower! πŸ˜€

If I said I would wish to get ARCs of books I really, really want [like, say, this one] before they’re released, would that sound too much like a suck-up? I’ll stick with it πŸ˜‰

  38. If I had a fairy godmother, I would wish for an all expenses paid trip around the world. I think it would be awesome to visit every single country you’ve ever wanted to see.

    Oh, and I’m a follower!

  39. Does it count if I “follow” you on Google Reader?

And can I wish for more time?

If not, I’d wish for cooler summers, though I like the world travel idea, and I could get very excited about being able to meet some of my ancestors.

  40. I’m enjoying your wishes and wish I could grant them all. I’m so totally with you on the self cleaning house, more time and energy, and travel–and health. I bet that’s what heaven is like. Forget the harps and wings. We all have self cleaning homes and no laundry.

And I remember being on bedrest for my twins. I don’t envy you that at all! By the way, twins do get easier around age two. Until then, get as much help as you can!

  41. I am an adoring follower!!

As for my wish, I would love to meet with every one of my favorite authors for a 30 minute interview where I can ask them whatever I want. It would be so much fun to get the behind-the-scenes look at their stories!

And now I can just imagine all the ways that wish can go wrong. πŸ˜€

  42. I follow!

I’m also selfish right now and would wish for a permanent cure to morning sickness … blech! Outside of that, I’d wish to always have the exact change of whatever I was purchasing (or paying off) in my pocket at the time of purchase.

  43. Follower!

If I ever met Chrysanthemum, I would wish her away! She would just find someway to ruin them haha
But for real, I would wish for:
    1. that everyone can experience love once in their life (because most of the problems in this world would be solved if people knew how to love)
    2. that I will have the family I always dreamed of
    3. that I could get free all the books I would ever want (and get awesome ARCS too) wink wink

  44. I’m a follower…

My serious wish: Well being of my children.

And that my sister could eat anything she wanted. And that we (my sissy and I…though you could come too) could live closer to each other.

  45. If I had a fairy godmother, I would wish for my mother to be healthy again. She has a heart disease and the doctor said she can die at any moment. All I want is to have more time with her, and to be able to do things, such as go to school, without constantly worrying if she’s alright or not.

    Oh, and I am a follower. πŸ™‚

  46. If I had one wish from my fairy godmother, or fair godmother, I would probably wish for a cure for all the different types of cancer. Too many people have died from cancer, and it should stop.

  47. I’d really need more than one wish so that I could undo the first one, since faeries are known to be tricksters. But today I would wish for my 25 year old body back.

    And I’m a follower…

  48. Can’t wait to read this one! I just found your blog and am now following it. πŸ™‚

Right now in my life I would wish for our house remodel to be over and done with (preferably in a day or two).

  49. I am a faithful follower!

I would wish that any book I wanted to read would appear on my nightstand and return itself when I was through with it until I wanted it again.

The clutter in my life would improve so much!

(I overheard my daughters best friend saying “Wow! your mom really likes to read doesn’t she. There are piles of books everywhere!”)

  50. I love your books. I’ve read all of them, I also love reading your blog. There’s always something to make me laugh.
I didn’t know that straw and hay were different. Who knew? Anyways, if I had a fairy godmother, I’d wish for cures for all of the truly horrible and nasty diseases that kill people everyday.

  51. I am a follower of your blog.

If I had Chrysanthemum Everstar as my Fairy Godmother I don’t think I would want a wish…. I would be afraid of the outcome….

But if I could have a wish granted in the way I intended, I would wish for house that cleaned itself.

  52. I’d probably wish to be as happy in my married life as my parents. I know it sounds corny but after 30 years of marriage and 5 kids and definetly believe that no one could be happier than them.
    Great cover by the way.
Ps, I don’t want to give my email here, it’s not an issue, is it?

  53. Excellent blog.

Fancy the content I have seen so far and I am your regular reader of your blog.

I follow your blog and I like your way of posting.

I am very much interested in adding my

I am pleased to see my blog in your blog list.

I would like to know whether you are interested in adding my blog in your blog list.

Hope to see a positive reply.

Thanks for visiting my blog as well !

Waiting for your reply friend !!!!!

  54. If I had a fairy godmother I would probably wish that my true love would find me, but since that sounds so sappy (and I don’t want to sound sappy) I would wish for one day in space where I somehow got to visit all of the planets (including Pluto which I still consider a planet!) with out dying of gas inhilation or hypothermia. And I would also want pictures to remember it by! I am a follower.

  55. I follow like a little lost puppy with big brown eyes and that cute little whimper. Anyways.

First of all, Chrissy makes me laugh. Though I would definitely not want her as a fairy godmother, I would definitely . . . like to watch from the sidelines.

Anyway, lets pretend my fairy godmother is the fat, funny, forgetful one from Cinderella, even though that princess bugs me. So, this is basically what I would wish for: memory. Like, I could remember all the things I’ve every heard or learned. We have ALL had those moments on a test where there is that one equation that we knew two minutes ago but forgot (not joking) just barely. So I’m telling you, that would definitely be useful.

And I could quote your books word for word. How amazingly awesome would that be. There are some pretty good lines produced from your fingertips, oh mighty author πŸ™‚

Now that I am done brown-nosing, I am officially excited for this book. Noooo joke. My Fair Godmother was definitely a favorite.

  56. If I had a fairy Godmother I would ask her if I could meet Richard Hatch, aka Apollo, because Janette Rallison got to and I am an even bigger fan of Battlestar Galactica than she is [actually we may have to fight over that – but I do have the complete season on DVD and original piano sheet music to the title score] Of course if I got to meet Richard Hatch/Apollo I would probably want to meet Starbuck, Boomer, Doxey, Adama [wait, he’s already passed on to Kobol] and fly one of those starfighters [blue squadron or red? hmm]
Or maybe I should wish to read the ARC for Janette Rallison’s latest book since i’ve read everything else she’s written and loved it.
Actually, if I could have one wish I would go back in time for just a few hours and have my children be small enough for me to hold on my lap and cuddle. They won’t let me do that now that teenagers or off to college.

  57. I love your books and I can’t wait to read ‘ My unfair godmother. If I got a wish I would wish to go to the past and redo a couple of thing fix some mistake I did and try my best not to mess up again.

  58. Im a new follower, If a fairy godmother gave me one wish, it would be give me and my twin sister a first class ticket to italy. Italy is my dream vacation, i mean theres gelato, pasta, and cute guys. Plus the beaches are so beautiful, it would be so cool! Thank you for this giveaway!!

    arudd908 @ gmail dot com

  59. If a fairy godmother would grant me one wish I would wish to heal the love of my life and to be able to live together with him in love for the rest of our lives. I know that sounds so typical, but right now, after all, this is my wish.

  60. I have to admit I don’t follow the blog faithfully, but I check in from time to time. I am a new fan. So you need to give me a little slack. Please. πŸ™‚

Hmm if I had a fairy godmother I would ask for a magic cook book. That gives me a new delicious recipe everyday. Can you tell I’m hungry?

  61. I totally forgive the hay/straw fiasco. πŸ™‚ It’s all good.

If I had a fairy godmother, I would ask for an extra hour a day, only to myself. Like the rest of the world would pause for an hour, and I would get to do whatever I want by myself. Can you tell I am a stay at home Mom? πŸ™‚

I am cheating a little, I already left one, but then I thought of this one and like it better. So this really shouldn’t be considered. πŸ™‚

  62. I totally forgive the hay/straw fiasco. πŸ™‚ It’s all good.

  63. If i had a fairy godmother (perhaps not someone like Chrissy), I would wish that i could freeze time so i could read all i want or to have a library with every single book in the world.

  64. Truth be told I’m not a follower but incredible… so now i am!
If I could have one wish it would be to star in a movie!!!!! Hollywood here I come πŸ™‚

  65. i think this giveaway is over, but oh well..

If I could get one wish I’d want to have a machine that could give me the book I want, anywhere and anytime:)
