Optioned!

Good news! My Fair Godmother was just optioned! This basically means that a very brilliant producer wants to make the book into a movie. Now I’m waiting and crossing my fingers that everything else will come together, because I’ve always thought this book would make a great movie.

Statistically speaking, most books that are optioned don’t actually make it to the box office, but I’m happy regardless because the fact that it got optioned feels like validation to me. Someone else in the business saw the potential in this book. Yay!

Congratulations, Janette! That’s great news. I hope it goes further than just an option, because that would be very cool.

So, if you could pick, who would you like to see play the characters?

Janette, this is so cool! What an awesome thing. And as a side note, I did a bookclub for my most recent book at Provident Books in Pleasant Grove and when Candace Salima came in, the first word on her lips was that she had My Fair Godmother! She was really cute.

Can’t wait to read it myself!

    Congrats!

And I think I sold a copy for you. I was at a mystery writer’s luncheon (a bunch of old ladies and me) and the author at our table said she wanted to move into YA. I told her she should check your stuff out.

    I’m excited to read it!

That’s fantastic, Janette! Fingers crossed that it makes it to the movie stage! There’s a terrific graphic novel about the whole Hollywood process from a writer’s perspective — Fortune & Glory by Brian Michael Bendis. Very funny and tongue-in-cheek about the way things *work* out there.

    Fingers crossed for you 🙂

Oh my goodness this is awesome! I loved My Fair Godmother! My sister thinks you should be a fantasy writer. Oh my goodness! I felt so bad for her when she got de-bikinied. Its never happened to be, but I have been depantsed.
My aunt sandy let me read both My Fair Godmother and Jusdt One Wish at her house. I liked Just One Wish the best, I almost cried in it at one point. It was so sweet, and funny!

Oh yay! I just finished this book and I loved it! That hasn’t happened since Twilight (and I read a lot, so that makes it special). It’s been awhile since a book made me laugh out loud!

I hope if it ever becomes a movie they stay faithful to the book! 🙂

I don’t think the author gets to chose who the characters will be in the movie. If the book My Fair Godmother does become a movie. **I really hope so because I am IN LOVE WITH THAT BOOK**lol anyways I was hoping that you could make a sequel of the book becuase, “My Fair Godmother” is a kind of book that does sound like a movie and will turn into a series.

So if you ever think about it, please tell me if you will make a sequel becuase I have a great idea of what will happens next.

My username for aim is my identity so if you have aim. Please reply to my request. Thank You soo Much for writing My Fair Godmother. It was awesome.

P.S. I just finished reading the book. hehehe in 3 days actually 😛
