Hey Mikey, he likes it!

I just heard from my editor and he actually likes my new story! In fact, he liked it so much he wants me to write nothing but sad stories from now on. I have to keep telling him I can’t do that because I am basically a happy person. I only have so much angst I can draw upon, and I think I used most of it up writing the last story.

But then again, you never know. I might get lucky and have tragedy strike me before the next book is due.

(No, I’m just kidding about that, Mr. Guardian Angel, Sir. Please don’t leave your post. Knock on wood and all of that.)

Anyway, I’m breathing a big sigh of relief. Now I can be happy–at least until I get the bow-tied-one’s revision notes. Despite what he says, I know from experience they will not be light. But hopefully they’ll at least be possible.

Yeah. You can be happy about your sad story until you get the revisions 🙂

    Yay about him liking it.
Maybe you could put on too tight undies and slam your hand in the door before you sit down to write. Wouldn’t that give you enough angst to write sad?

Good news! Hope you can once again write ‘sad.’ As for me, still waiting to hear from your publisher regarding the chapters they asked me to send 5 months ago! I hate the wait, but most of all if after all this time it’s a No.

    Woohooo!

But now I’m curious — does he know he has the nickname of “The Bow-tied One?” And what does he think of that? 🙂

Janette–don’t go sad on us!!! Okay, a little will be fine, but my favorite parts in your books are the ones that make me laugh…and there are a lot of those!

Yay, on the news though. And did “The Bow-tied One” speak at an SCBWI conference in Houston a year or so ago? I think I remember him.

    Whats your book about???

The name of the book is Last Wish (at least for now) and the main character’s little brother has a brain tumor (thus the sad part of the novel).

He wants to meet Robin Hood (In the novel there is a popular t.v. series called Teen Robin Hood) So she goes off to Hollywood to convince the actor to visit her brother.

It still is funny, and romantic, and I hope somewhat happy–but I did cry while I wrote it and my editor cried when he read it. So yeah, it is a departure from my other books.

Still, I hope my fans–even Tammy, still like it.
